·The concept of not bathing cats frequently is now well established.
However, without bathing your cat.
How can you keep your cat clean?
This big problem can be solved in two main parts.
First, environmental cleaning
Second, cat cleaning
Daily poop scooping + cleaning of food and water bowls
Pay attention to hygienic corners + clean cat hair (will absorb dust)
(1) Clean up sanitary corners
Cats have a wider range of activities than we think.
There are many places that we don't notice in our daily cleaning.
But cats can get into them or jump on them...
For example, under the bed, under the sofa, on top of the closet, on top of the refrigerator, etc.
▷ "De-clutter": Clean thoroughly once every 1-2 weeks. Recommend using electrostatic mop and duster.
▷ "Blocking": A simpler way is to seal up these difficult places and keep them away from your cat.
Bathrooms, kitchens, storage rooms with many dead ends are closed on a daily basis.
▷ You can also put a litter-leakage mat in front of the litter box to reduce litter carry-out (can only be reduced, not avoided).
(2) Environmental hair removal
Cat hair gathers everywhere in the house and dust is often attracted to it, and cats lie and burrow everywhere, so these floating dusts are attached to the cats.
Therefore, removing cat hair from the environment is also an important aspect of keeping the cat clean.
▷ Whole house hair removal: Sweeper/vacuum cleaner for whole house dusting + steam mop for high temperature disinfection.
▷ Cat hair gathering places, such as corners, etc. Personally, I like to use a vacuum cleaner with a small nozzle to suck up hair wherever it is.
▷ Beds, sofas: Vacuum cleaner/dust mite cleaner
▷ Carpets, cat climbers, cat nests, etc. Recommended to use.
✔ Hair scraper: very effective, but only for tweed, suede
✔ Silicone brusher: little harm to fabric, can be used for fabric sofa, clothing, etc
✔ Rubber gloves: used to remove either the bed, sofa, cat climbing frame or cat litter on the hair, the effect is superb!
✔ Sponge dishwashing wipe, scrubbing towel, foot rubbing stone, etc., used to remove hair effect is also very good, but more suitable for use in a rougher surface, cotton fabric, etc. may rub up balls.
The general environmental hygiene is done, the next thing to deal with is the difficult part - the cat.
(1) Hair daily care
The hair plays a key role in whether the cat looks clean or not.
A fluffy coat gives a clean and fresh look.
And hair that is layered and tangled will make the cat feel so greasy.
Although cats groom themselves every day, there are always places that TA can't lick, and that's where the role of the pooper scooper comes into play.
(2) Grooming
Combing your cat's hair can help comb down the floating hair and waste hair on the surface of the skin, as well as remove excess grease, dust and dirt, and also reduce the floating hair at home.
【Recommended frequency】
Long-haired cats: daily
short-haired cats: at least 2-3 days/time
【Tool selection】
✔ Short-haired cats: shell comb, needle comb
✔ Long-haired cats: row comb
(3) Removal of static electricity
In dry air, cat fur is prone to static electricity, which in turn attracts dust.
Environmental de-static: Use a hygrometer to monitor the humidity in your home, and use a humidifier if the humidity is not enough.
Cat de-static: daily, you can properly spray some cat-specific moisturizing anti-static spray onto the comb and give the cat an even comb.
(4) Cats can be wiped/dry cleaned
If the cat's fur is really greasy/ has some stains/ partial soiling, it can be wet wiped or dry cleaned.

(5) Wet wipe
▷ For general greasy stains, use a wrung-out hot towel/baby wet paper towel/cat-specific no-rinse cleaning gloves to wipe back and forth all over the body against the coat + down the coat.
Areas that love oil, such as chin, ears, tail, and skin that already has black spots are signs of excessive oil secretion, use saline/flourohexidine for wiping.
▷ If it is stained with some oily stains, such as watercolor, ink, marker, cosmetics, etc., wipe with makeup remover or alcohol-containing wipes before wiping with water.
▷ If the hair is yellowing such as chest hair, you can apply the original bathing gel for cats (undiluted) while the cat's hair is dry and leave it on for 5-10min and then scrub it off.
Can I bathe the kitten I just picked up?
- It is not recommended to wash, the cat's immune status is unknown + prone to stress. Dry cleaning gloves can be used for simple cleaning first.
- After cleaning, deworming will be performed.
(6) Dry cleaning
▷ Dry cleaning supplies: special no-rinse foam/dry cleaning powder for cats.
▷ How to use: After backcombing the cat's hair, apply the no-rinse foam, leave it to dry naturally, then comb the whole body with the hair, the greasy feeling of the cat's hair will disappear and become dry.
But this cleaning is only temporary. And it is not recommended if the cat cat is seriously oily, lest the fur is instead greasy and caked.
(7) Local daily care
Cats sometimes have a stinky body and don't feel very clean, it may be the mouth, eye and ear secretions, or the stinky smell emitted by pp... When you encounter these situations, you need to target cleaning.
▷ Brush teeth. Cats with poor oral hygiene may have bad breath and can get stinky fur all over as TA licks itself every day.
- Necessary: brush teeth every day
- Auxiliary: teeth cleaning water, teeth cleaning powder, freeze-dried chicken neck, teething cookies, etc.
▷ Clean the eyes and ears. Under normal circumstances, cleaning is not necessary and daily use of ear wash, eye drops, etc. is not recommended. If there is some occasional discharge or tear marks, use cotton pads, baby/pet wipes moistened and wiped.
▷ Paws and Claws. If they are a little dirty, wipe them with a wet tissue.
▷ Butt. Daily observation of the cat daisy is clean, can be wiped with a wet paper towel; long-haired cat pp easy to hang shi, can be properly trimmed butt hair.
If the body is stained with mud, dust, cat litter, shit, etc. on a larger scale, local water washing can be carried out.
What if the cat is covered with sticky substances such as chewing gum, wax, asphalt, paint, glue, sticky fly board, etc.?
- When the area is small, it can be carefully shaved/cut off.
- When the area is larger, first spread the contaminated surface with prickly heat powder, flour, etc. to relieve the gluing of the sticky substance; send it to the hospital for the doctor to handle.
